The contestants of the 2013 International Three Day Novel Contest #3DNC are anxiously awaiting the announcement of the prize winners some time in February. The delicious agony of that marathon on Labour Day weekend, as well as for those who participated in the 2013 National Novel Writing Month #NaNoWriMo is a sufficiently distant memory. We are ready to consider entering another writing marathon. 140 character fiction blasts sound quite appealing and manageable.
In November 2013 Twitter UK announced the first international #TwitterFiction Festival 2014 in partnership with Penguin Random House and the Association of American Publishers. Writers are encouraged to submit their story ideas by February 5th in order to be considered as a “Featured Storyteller” along with famous writers during the week-long real-time digital festival March 12-16, 2014. The format for participation is very creative, flexible, and a little complicated (can use Vine, multiple fictional Twitter accounts, etc.), so check out www.twitterfictionfestival.com for full details, to submit ideas online, profiles of who else is participating.
